The Farmers' Market Federation of NY is a membership organization of farmers' markets, their managers, sponsors, and supporters; farmers and vendors participating in farmers' markets; and all others interested in supporting the farmers' market industry in New York State.
Membership dues is an annual fee used to keep Federation programs and services operational, as well as allowing the Federation to continuously develop new programs and advocate on behalf of farmers' market interests. Click here for a membership enrollment form.
The following services are available through the Farmers' Market Federation of NY:
- Commercial General Liability Insurance Program for markets and vendors
- Wireless Farmers' Market EBT (Electronics Benefit Transfer) program expanding opportunities for markets and farmers
- Debit and Credit program add-on to the Wireless Farmers Market EBT program
- Market Development Services, including developing new farmers markets and working with existing markets
- Educational programming - both regional and statewide workshops and conferences for market manager and market
- Promotion of markets to state and community leaders through educational efforts and community partnership

- Website, listing of all markets in the state, as well as farmer members of the
Federation, and publications, resources and links to assist market managers, sponsors and organizers in the
development of successful community farmers’ markets
- Market promotional programs, such as the statewide market banner and cloth tote bag programs
- Partnerships with NYC District Public Health Office to administer the Health Bucks Program
- Work on national policy issues through board position on national Farmers’ Market Coalition
- Work on state level food and farm policy issues through Governor’s appointment to the New York State Food
Policy Council
- Voice for farmers’ markets in Albany on issues of importance to our industry.
