The Farmers Market Federation of New York announces its annual Farmers Market Managers Conference will be held virtually March 1 – 4, 2022. The conference theme is “Growing Your Market’s Potential” and will take place live via Zoom. This year’s conference will focus on the myriad of ways to grow a strong community, consumer, and vendor base to enhance the viability of our markets.
From Managing Vendor Satisfaction to Creating a Volunteer Corps; from Tools for Successful Social Media Promotion to Working with the SNAP Community; from Food Safety Regulations to Maintaining Your Market’s Success in the Face of New Competition, each session builds on the conference’s overall theme of helping market’s reach their potential to flourish as colorful, viable places of commerce and community exchange.
We welcome our Keynote Speaker Bob Boyd from the Westside Farmers Market, whose “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” keynote address will give an in-depth look at the Westside Farmers’ Market BIPOC-grant funded market diversity project.
Sessions are designed for both beginner and veteran market managers. Many of the conference panelists are market operators themselves who come to our conference eager to share their valuable on-the-job experiences. This makes for a rich perspective on the issues market managers face day-to-day. In addition to the 10 informative sessions offered, the conference will feature interactive networking opportunities to allow managers to share experiences, ideas, and challenges.
This year, we are excited to continue to offer our conference at a reduced rate to encourage greater participation by market managers across the state. The $50 per person registration fee will cover the full conference, including access to presentation documents and recordings.
